A Splash page at one time was considered a must-do on well designed sites. Now many Web designers (including myself) have abandoned the use of Splash pages as an unnecessary inconvenience for the visitor. This page (left) was the first page after the Splash page. I used a miniature version of the logo for the navigation buttons.
