Graphics
This assignment is about the different graphic formats, how to get (download) free clip art you can use for backgrounds, buttons and crazy and cute images, the code to insert graphics into your text and link them to other pages.
Instructions
Add the following elements to your Web site:
- Three (3) to five (5) graphics. I will grade three. Worth 10 points.
- Align some text to the each graphic. Do it three (3) different ways. See example page. Worth 10 points.
- Use ALT tags for all graphics (alt="Call It Whatever It Is and Spaces are OK here but keep it short less than 4 words."). Worth 10 points.
- Two (2) linked graphics. (This means when you click on the graphic, it takes you to another page, another place on that page or another Web site.) Worth 10 points.
- IMPORTANT: Email me your name, your section number and the (exact) URL to your site. Make sure to follow all of these instructions. I will only view this homework assignment via the Internet. Do not give me a disk.

More Help:
How to copy/download graphics from a free clip art site.
These instructions apply to Netscape, Internet Explorer and NCSA Mosaic. There are slight variations in the wording each browser uses.
Windows
- Move your cursor over the graphic.
- Press the right mouse button.
- Choose "Save this Image As.." or "Download Image to Disk" from the pop-up menu.
- You will get a dialog box to save the image. You can rename it or keep the name the site gave it.
- Click on Save or OK button to save the image. (Pay attention to where the image is saved on your hard drive or you may never find it again.)
Mac
- Move your cursor over the graphic.
- Click and hold down the mouse button.
Note: What happens if you choose "Copy" or "Copy This Image"?
It will copy the image to your clipboard (a temporary storage place on your hard drive). You then would open a graphics program like Photoshop or Photoshop Lite, "Paste" it into a new file and get your graphic this way, too.
Then save your new file, name it and make sure you know where on your hard drive you are putting it. But the next graphic you "Copy" will replace the last one in the clipboard. This is a longer way to get graphics but sometimes the downloading way does not work for reasons unexplainable (like many things in life).
